What a boiler installation covers
A full installation is far more than swapping a box on the wall. It covers heat-loss based sizing, gas supply pipework checks and upgrades where the existing run can't deliver the required kW, a system cleanse or power flush of the existing pipework, magnetic filter and inhibitor, condensate routing to a suitable termination, flue routing and clearance checks, controls and thermostat, then a full commissioning and handover with Benchmark documentation completed and the installation notified to Gas Safe and building control.

When it's time to replace rather than repair
Rough guide: if the boiler is over 12 years old, parts are obsolete or on long lead times, the repair quote is more than a third of a replacement, or it has failed more than twice in a heating season, replacement usually wins on cost over a three-year horizon. An old non-condensing unit running at 70% efficiency against a modern condensing boiler at 92%+ is also spending your money every hour it fires.
Why sizing and commissioning matter more than brand
Most disappointing installations are not caused by the boiler — they're caused by a unit that's too big for the heat loss, short-cycling all winter, or one that was never commissioned properly: flow temperature left at factory default, no weather compensation, gas rate never checked, system never balanced. We take the heat loss, choose the output, and prove the numbers at handover.
